NT Oil and Gas - History, Challenges and Opportunity

Hon MARTIN FERGUSON, AM

The PCNT November Industry Networking dinner welcomes Hon. Martin Ferguson, AM as our special guest speaker. Martin has a long history of public service and work in economic and social policy holding the Federal Resources, Energy and Tourism portfolios from 2007 until March 2013.

Martin is currently Chair of the APPEA Advisory Board; the Strategic Director of Seven Group Holdings Energy Pty Limited with responsibility for natural resources and Director of University of Western Australia Energy & Minerals Institute, among other positions held outside the resources industry.

In his presentation to our members and guests, Martin will be sharing a unique overview the NT industry’s history, challenges and opportunities. Given Martin’s extensive parliamentary experience and current roles held with Oil and Gas industry bodies, his observations of the industry’s strengths and weaknesses; intricate understanding of economic drivers; guidance on government engagement and insight into potential sector growth opportunities will be valuable information for local business, major contractors and operator companies.

Martin’s Government, business, and executive union experience provides us with a very rare opportunity to hear from one of the nation’s most eminent and credible statesmen who has been at the forefront of driving the nation’s resources prosperity. Martin is held in the highest regard, not only across our industry but throughout the broader business community and across the political spectrum.

This is a rare opportunity to hear from Martin reflecting on the industry’s past, where we are at present and a glimpse at the future. An event not to be missed.

Other speakers include:

Introduction: Hon. Paul Henderson

Closing remarks: Matthew Doman, APPEA
