Unconventional Natural Gas Development: The Pennsylvania Experience

In the years since natural gas drilling began in the Marcellus and Utica shales, the US State of Pennsylvania has experienced the development of over 11,000 unconventional wells, a multi-billion pipeline construction build out, and the single largest investment since World War II - Shell Pennsylvania Chemicals – the first downstream petrochemical manufacturing facility of its kind on the east coast of the United States.

Denise Brinley, the Executive Director of Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of Energy will speak about Pennsylvania's experience with responsible unconventional gas development.

Denise's office straddles energy policy, workforce development, and economic development, giving her a unique view of the challenges and opportunities presented by the development of this resource.

After her presentation Denise will be joined on a panel for further discussion and input from Northern Territory stakeholders. The panel will include:

  • David Taylor, President of Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association
  • Dave Close, SANTOS General Manager Onshore New ventures
  • Joanne Townsend, CEO Department Environment and Natural Resources

Please join us for a discussion of the historical growth and current trajectory of this industry from both state and private sector leadership.

Tickets include 2 course meal and drinks.
