Join us for our March Industry dinner with Empire Energy's Managing Director, Alex Underwood. Alex will share an update on Empire Energy's activity and their role in developing the Beetaloo Basin.
Empire Energy Group is the largest acreage holder in the McArthur Basin and Beetaloo Sub-basin. ASX-listed, Empire is 100% owner-operator and is currently running exploration activities across several permit areas. Empire’s ambition is to be the first Beetaloo Sub-basin to commercial production, a move it sees will benefit industry development, Traditional Owners and Northern Territorians more broadly.
2021 was a busy year for the Beetaloo Sub-basin with some very encouraging results from all operators. Empire successfully drilled, cased and suspended Carpentaria-2H, the longest lateral well in the Velkerri formation drilled to date. Empire made a major acquisition of its western leases which are traversed by the Amadeus Gas Pipeline and will be escalating exploration work programs in those areas in the coming dry season.
Empire’s Managing Director Alex Underwood says early production is the key for Empire Energy. In 2021 MOU’s were signed with both APA Group, one of Australia largest gas infrastructure operators, and Power Water Corporation who operate the McArthur River pipeline which passes right between its two EP187 wells giving both eastern and western direct opportunity to transport gas to markets, Australia wide.
Empire values the importance of building positive relationships with Traditional Owners, pastoralists and communities. Empire’s team are committed to ensuring stakeholders are engaged respectfully and collaboratively.
“It’s the way we like to work”, says Underwood who will present an update of Empire’s activities and offer his informed insights as to what’s in store for 2022 in the Beetaloo.
