The offshore decommissioning sector is evolving—and the Northern Territory has a window of opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping its future.

At our July Industry Networking Breakfast, we’ll welcome a keynote address from the Hon. Bill Yan, Minister for Logistics and Infrastructure, who will speak to the Northern Territory Government’s interest in decommissioning and future infrastructure considerations.

We’ll also hear from the Centre of Decommissioning Australia (CODA), who will dive into the findings of the Northern Territory Decommissioning Location Study - a report assessing the Territory’s readiness to receive, dismantle, and process offshore oil and gas assets. Alongside insights from the study, CODA will also provide an update on the broader state of play of decommissioning in Australia, offering context to where capability currently stands and the strategic value of Darwin and surrounding infrastructure in supporting long-term decommissioning activity.

To round out the morning, representatives from the Northern Endeavour Decommissioning Project will provide an update on the Second Tranche of works, and the opportunities it may present for local suppliers and industry.
